Last summer when I first visited the Mt. Mitake, I only visited the one waterfall called Nanayo Falls. Here is the e-photobook of the visit.

Last week I had a chance to visit there for the third time, and I visited both waterfalls.

Last time when I visited there I got the information about Takigyo which means to perform cold water ablutions by a fall. I have wanted to try Takigyo for a few years.
最後にそこに行った時、滝行の情報を得ました。私はここ数年ずっと滝行をやってみたいと思っていたのです。

Chance has come finally. I tried it at the Kuzuryu waterfalls last Saturday.
ついにチャンスがやってきました。私は先週の土曜日に九頭竜の滝で滝行をやりました。

My main purpose of this trip was to visit two festivals, one was the Gion Festival in Kyoto and the other was the annual festival at Tenkawa dai benzaiten sha Shrine in Nara.

主な目的は、京都の祇園祭と奈良の天河大辨財天社の例大祭を見ることでした。

 

I did not expect to see waterfalls, but to my lucky I could see some in Kyoto and Nara.

滝に行けるとは思っていませんでしたが、幸運なことに京都と奈良でいくつか見れました。

If you hear “Tokyo,” what do you imagine?
東京と聞くと何を思い浮かべますか？

Tokyo is the capital of Japan, and the center of politics, economics, culture, information, academic, art, entertainment, and so on.
東京は日本の首都で、政治、経済、文化、情報、学問、芸術、エンターテイメント等々の中心です。

There are so many restaurants of various foods around the world, modern skyscrapers, traditional buildings and many touristic places to visit.
世界中の様々な料理のレストランがあり、近代的な高層ビルもあれば、伝統的な建築物や沢山の観光地があります。

It is a big city, but there are islands and wonderful nature places too.
大都市ですが、島もあるし素晴らしい自然もあるのです。

Last summer on the Day of Mountain, my ex-colleague planned to visit Mt. Mitake to see the beautiful flowers and enjoy eating mountain foods. There is a famous shrine there and I decided to join. When I saw the map, I found two waterfalls nearby, and I asked her if we could visit there or not. She said we could visit the one. And we visited the Nanayo no taki waterfall.
昨年夏の山の日に元同僚が御岳山で花と山の幸を楽しもうという計画を立てました。近くにとても有名な神社があるので、私は参加することにしました。地図を見たら近くに２つの滝がありましたので、彼女にそこに行けるか尋ねました。１つなら行けるというので、私たちは七代の滝に行くことにしました。

I have wanted to go to another waterfall since then.
その時からもう一つの滝に行きたかったのです。

There came the chance.
チャンスがやってきました。

There are night Kagura performances on the 4th Sunday from June to November at the Musashi mitake jinja Shrine. Anyone can join for free of charge. My friend asked me to go to see the one in November. Since I could not go up to the top of the mountain where there is Okunoin, an inner sanctuary nor visit another waterfall last time, I decided to join for one night two days.
6月から11月の第4日曜日に武蔵御嶽神社では夜神楽があります。誰でも無料で見ることが出来ます。11月の回に行こうと友人に誘われました。前回奥の院まで登れなかったし、もう１つの滝に行けなかったので、1泊2日で行くことにしました。

On the first day my friend and I got together at the JR Mitake station, visited the guesthouse to leave the luggage, climbed up to the top of the mountain to visit Okunoin, the inner sanctuary, came back to the guesthouse and got together another friend.
初日に友人とJR御嶽駅で合流し、宿坊に行き荷物を置き、奥の院目指して山を登り、お参りして、宿坊に戻り、もう一人の友人と合流しました。

After having dinner we went to the Musashi mitake jinja Shrine to see the night Kagura performances. It was wonderful. We really enjoyed and bought the Kagura bells for donation.
夕飯を食べてから武蔵御嶽神社に夜神楽を見に行きました。素晴らしかったです。とても楽しんだので、神楽鈴をいただきました。

On the second day we got up early to attend the morning service at the shrine.
2日目は早く起きて神社での朝拝に参加しました。

After having breakfast we visited the guesthouse where we were supposed to stay but could not to greet. Two friends left after that for their own schedule.
I went hiking by myself to visit the waterfall which I could not visit last time.
朝食後、本当は泊まるはずだったけれど泊まれなかった宿坊にあいさつに行きました。二人の友人はそれぞれ予定があったので、帰りました。私は、前回行けなかった滝に行くために一人でハイキングに行きました。

I am glad to visit Ayahiro no taki waterfall. It is a place where you can exercise the ascetic practice at a waterall. I hope to try next time.
綾広の滝に行けて良かったです。そこは滝行ができる場所です。次回はやってみたいと思います。

I enjoyed walking along the Tama river on my way back to the station.
駅までの帰り道多摩川沿いを歩きました。

My Trip to Yamanashi: July 2023

I love traveling.

私は旅行が大好きです。

I have been to many places in my life.
私は今までの人生いろいろなところに行ってきました。

I like to see beautiful places and take pictures.
私は美しいところを見て、写真を撮るのが好きです。

Under the COVID-19 situation, we cannot travel around the world freely as we used to.
コロナ禍では、かつてのように自由に海外旅行が出来ません。

Therefore I have traveled around Japan instead.
だから、その代わり、私は国内を旅しています。

I have been to Yamanashi many times in my life.
私は今までに山梨に何度も行ったことがあります。

Recently I went there by a bus tour from Shinjuku. It started at 8 AM and came back around 6:30 PM visiting 4 sightseeing spots. It was a nice trip that I would like to share the experience.
最近新宿発のバスツアーで山梨に行きました。朝8時に出発して、4つの観光地を回り夕方6時半頃戻ってきました。とても素晴らしい旅行だったので、その経験を共有したいと思います。
