My Trip to Matsushima: October 2025

 I love traveling.

私は旅行が大好きです。

I have been to many places in my life.
私は今までの人生いろいろなところに行ってきました。

I like to see beautiful places and take pictures.
私は美しいところを見て、写真を撮るのが好きです。

There are some shrines I visit every year.
いくつか年参りをしている神社があります。

I went to Kinkasan Koganeyama jinja shrine in October this year for the fourth time.
この10月に金華山黄金山神社に4回目の参拝に行きました。

There are some places I go before and after the visit.
参拝の前後に行くいくつかのところがあります。

This year I went to Shiogama jinja, Shiwahiko jinja, and Okama jinja in Shiogama before going to Kinkasan, and Matsushima, Kanahebisui jinja, Takekoma jinja after visiting Kinkasan.
今年は、金華山に行く前に、塩釜の鹽竈神社、志波彦神社、御釜神社に行き、金華山の後で、松島、金蛇水神社、竹駒神社に行きました。

After coming back from Kinkasan, I took a train from Onagawa to Matsushima kaigan with my friends and two of us stayed at Matsushima, and the other stayed at Ishinomaki.
金華山から戻って、友人と女川から松島海岸に行き、二人で松島に泊まり、一人は石巻に泊まりました。

Next day, two of us enjoyed morning walking around Matsushima, and one joined later and we enjoyed cruising around Matsuhima.
翌日二人で松島の朝の散歩を楽しみ、もう一人合流し、観光船を楽しみました。

Matsushima is known as one of the three most beautiful sceneries in Japan.
松島は日本三景の一つとして知られています。

When I visited Matsushima last time on September 25, 2023, I only stayed there for a few hours. Therefore, I wanted to come back to stay there.
私が前回2023年9月25日に松島に行った時は、数時間しか滞在しませんでした。ですから、また戻って泊まりたいと思っていました。

I wanted to stay at a Japanese style hotel, but could not book. However, I could stay and enjoy one night two days visit there visiting somewhere I missed last time.
日本風の旅館に泊まりたかったのですが、予約ができませんでした。しかしながら、前回行けなかったところに行って1泊2日の旅を楽しむことができました。

Kinkasan Fire Festival: October 2025

It is said that there are more than 88,000 shrines in Japan. Each shrine has some festivals in a year. They usually have monthly festivals called tsukinamisai on the first day and the 15th day of the month. Besides monthly festivals they have annual festivals. Some are famous and others are not.
日本には88,000以上の神社があるといわれています。それぞれの神社には毎年お祭りがあります。普通1日と15日には月次祭と呼ばれるお祭りがあります。それ以外に例大祭があります。有名なものもあればそうでないものもあります。

I started the new e-book series “Festivals in Japan” in 2022 when I visited Chichibu Night Festival.
2022年に秩父の夜祭に行ったときに新しい”日本の祭り” シリーズを始めました。

This is the fifth e-book of the series.
これはこのシリーズ5冊目です。

About 5 years ago I heard about Kinkasan Koganeyama jinja shrine in Miyagi Prefecture. They say if you keep visiting there for three years straight, you would never be in need of money for the rest of your life.
5年ほど前に、宮城県の金華山黄金山神社について知りました。3年続けてお参りすると、一生お金に困らないそうです。

Four years ago, at the time of Hatsumi sai, the first snake day festival in May my friend invited me to go there together.
4年前の5月の初巳祭の時に友人が一緒に行こうと誘ってくれました。

Three years ago, I went there at the time of Reitai sai, the annual festival in September.
3年前は9月の例大祭に行きました。

Since last year was the year of Dragon, I have decided to go to the Dragon Festival in July.
昨年は辰年なので、7月の龍神際に行こうと決めていました。

This was the third year for me to go there.
私にとって、昨年は3年目でした。

For the first two years it was fine, but last year it rained when I climbed Mt. Kinka.
最初の2年間は青天でしたが、昨年は金華山に登った時、雨が降りました。

I was attacked by leeches for the first time.
初めてヒルに襲われました。

When I went there last time, I knew there would be a big festival next year because of the year of Snake and I have decided to come again at the festival.
昨年行った時に、翌年は巳年なので、ご縁年の大きなお祭りがあることを知り、そのお祭りを見に来ようと決めていました。

The festival is a grand sacred ritual held at a specially constructed festival site. A goma altar is erected, prayers are recited, and kagura dances are performed. All goma sticks dedicated over the past three years are burned in a single grand ceremony. Participants can experience the ritual procession and fire-walking.
それは特設祭場に護摩壇を組み、祝詞を奏上し神楽を奉納して、三年間にわたって奉納頂いた護摩木を一度にお焚き上げする盛大な御神事です。廻り行、火渡りの行が体験できるものなのです。

To my very lucky I could book two rooms for 6 people, so I invited my friends who love to visit sacred places and attended the ceremony and festival.
とても幸運なことに6人分の2部屋を予約することができたので、お参り好きの友人を誘ってこのお祭りに参加することにしました。

My Trip to Kyoto: October 2025

When I decided to go to EXPO 2025 OSAKA, KANSAI, JAPAN for the 9th and 10th times in October, I was wondering how to go and where else to go.
10月に9回目と10回目の大阪・関西万博に行くことを決めたとき、どうやって行こうか、他にどこに行こうかと考えていました。

There are so many places to go in Kansai.
関西にはとてもたくさん行くところがあるのです。

Fortunately, I had two invitation tickets for the museums, so I decided to visit the National Museum of Ethnology in Osaka and the Kyoto National Museum.
幸運なことに2枚博物館の招待券があったので、大阪の国立民族学博物館と京都国立博物館に行くことにしました。

My Trip to Osaka: October 2025

When I decided to go to EXPO 2025 OSAKA, KANSAI, JAPAN for the 9th and 10th times in October, I was wondering how to go and where else to go.
10月に9回目と10回目の大阪・関西万博に行くことを決めたとき、どうやって行こうか、他にどこに行こうかと考えていました。

関西にはとてもたくさん行くところがあるのです。

Fortunately, I had two invitation tickets for the museums, so I decided to visit the National Museum of Ethnology in Osaka and the Kyoto National Museum.
幸運なことに2枚博物館の招待券があったので、大阪の国立民族学博物館と京都国立博物館に行くことにしました。

Since I had an appointment to see someone in Osaka, I decided to go to National Museum of Ethnology after that.
大阪で人と会う約束があったので、そのあとに国立民族学博物館に行くことにしました。

Sunlight: November 2025

 I love to see beautiful things and take pictures.

私は美しいものを見て写真を撮るのが好きです。

I like to take pictures of sunlight through trees, clouds, and other things.
私は木漏れ日を撮るのが好きです。

When I take pictures at the sacred places like shrines and temples, I can take wonderful light pictures without realizing.
神社仏閣のような神聖な場所で写真を撮ると、気づかぬうちに素晴らしい光の写真が撮れていることがあります。

This is a collection of sunlight pictures when I took in Tashkent and Samarkand in Uzbekistan, Seoul in Korea, Kanagawa, Tokyo, Okayama, Shimane, Tottori, and so on in November 2025.
これは、私が2025年11月にウズベキスタンのタシケントとサマルカンド、韓国のソウル、神奈川、東京、岡山、島根、鳥取などで撮った光の写真集です。
